As Australia continues to recover from the Covid-19 Pandemic, the legal fallout continues. In this case is QANTAS in the firing line. The Safework NSW are prosecuting Qantas after standing down a ground crew worker at the beginning of the pandemic after he raised concern employees were at risk of contracting Covid-19 after cleaning passenger planes arriving from China. The court case is assessing Qantas’ conduct and determining whether the company failed to provide proper workplace health and safety processes for its staff. Attempts by QANTAS to get the matter thrown out of court have failed. The trial will be resuming in August.
